Hello gourav,

Admission for engineering is going to start very soon. Admission in various private and government college of different states and in NITs and some top universities are given on the basis of JEE mains.

Admission in IITs and in some other institutions are given on basis of JEE advanced. Some more private universities conduct their own entrance exam such as BITS,etc. Though the admission procedure usually starts after 15 June and continues till the mid of August.

Admissions in IIT,NIT and IIIT is governed by JOSAA and in other private and government colleges of various states is governed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of respective states . For example admission in Madhya Pradesh is governed by MPDTE and so on in various states.

For information about exact dates you can see your daily newspaper or log on to your respective states dte website for the complete schedule and for IIT,NIT and IITs log on to JOSAA official website and for any private university log on to their official website.

The general documents needed at the time of admission are

12 th and 10 th class marksheet

Transfer certificate (TC)

Migration certificate

Photographs( passport size)

Proof of identity ( majorly Adhar card)

Caste certificate ( if comes under reservation)

Income certificate of family

Domicile certificate ( of Home state)

Allotment letter ( provided in councilling)

Registration form ( councilling)

Some more documents may be needed according to the type of college and some documents listed above may differ according to the college/ university.

Hope this helps.

Further any queries feel free to ask.

All the best!!

Regards.
