Hello,

Hope it helps!

Glycerol when treated with excess HI produces 2-iodopropane. The same product will be formed when glycerol is treated with phosphorus triiodide. Glycerol reacts with 3 molecules of HI under warm conditions and produces an unstable molecule of 1,2,3-triiodopropane.

All the best!

Hope it will help!

Thank you!
