Don't worry about CAT exam 2018 registration now. It will be opening next year in the month of August-September 2018.

If you are focussing on CAT 2018 so you have lots of time for preparations. I will recommend you to start your preparations by making your basics strong which is really must for progressing further. You need to have clear concepts in all.the 3 sections.

For quantitative ability section you can refer Arun Sharma book which clears all your doubts very well and have a variety of questions starting from basics to advanced level. For Verbal Ability you need to read lots of good books written by good authors like Charles Dickens, Agastha Christie, Sydney Sheldon etc. and various good newspapers like Hindu which will help you in improving your English literature and for vocabulary start memorizing 5 new words daily with their meaning and correct pronounciation and use them in your daily conversations so that you can memorize them properly. For RC section you should start reading passages and understand the thought process of author, how is he communicating, what message it wants to deliver. For DI-LR understand tricks to approach variety of questions.

Along with these give lots of online mock test which will help you in knowing your strength and weakness and give you time to overcome your mistakes to improve your score and percentile.
