NEP is not  implemented in Maharashtra. Discussions with researchers and educational experts are ongoing. According to Uddhav Thackeley, Head of State, the  National Education Policy (NEP) has described some new concepts in which the state government must modify existing legislation. The government also plans to complete the initial stages of the NEP by April 2022, according to some central government sources. Therefore, the  government decision is immediately expected.
