That entirely depens on the number of subjects you have taken. Like,if you have taken only five subjects then there is no option for you to exclude any subject. But if you have six subjects then best five will be considered. The subjects in which you have scored well is taken into best five along with English. So,it's English plus any four subjects. However,while applying for graduation in any particular course,you need to include that subject while calculating your percentage.

When it comes to examinations like jee etc , 5 Subjects you need to consider for calculating percentage are :-

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• A language
• Any subject

So , you can see that including a language subject is compulsory, so if you don't have any language subject other English then you need to consider English otherwise you can replace it by other language subject , while you apply for graduation then you need to necessarily include the subject in which you are taking honours and 1 language subject while calculating your percentage
