Dear Pankaj, you have to be a graduate to be eligible for becoming an Income Tax Officer. Graduation in any stream is fine. The IT Department, Central Board of IT Taxes, Govt. of India will release a notification for its entrance examination and conduct an entrance examination for filling the posts of Inspector of  Income Tax, Income Tax Officer, PS Cadre, AO Cadre, Group 'C', etc. The age should not be lesser than 18 years and not more than 30 years. The selection is based on Written Examination and Personal Interview.
