In a given series of data arranged in Ascending order, Median is the middle most element. And Mean also called average is calculated by adding up the values of all the terms and then dividing it  by the number of terms.

Consider a data  - 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

Here Median is 5.

And Mean is (1+3+5+7+9) / 5 = 5

So here both mean and median are the same. For an organised data median is generally the mean value.
