 you have to give first preference to central colleges based on IIT-JEE cutoffs followed by state college based on state cutoffs..

Here some list of engineering colleges and their status..

1) NIT Calicut : it was really one of the top NITs and its placement records really make wonder us especially in the case of computer science engineering.. you cannot expect that much salary packages.. But its little tough to get in jee mains

2) IIT palakkad : it was recently started IIT in Kerala but we don't have to worry its a brand and placements really decent..

3) Many state colleges are there like College of engineering,university of calicut,TVM but can't we compare with above two central colleges.. placements are good but not so high as IITs and NITs

Anyway try for NIT calicut its my true suggestion to get higher salary packages..
