Apart NITs and IITs there will be Soo many colleges which offer students to pursue Btech with Mechanical engineering.You can go with private engineering college and state engineering college.State engineering college like Jadavpur university,BIT SINDRI etc.Private engineering college like BITS Pilani,BITs Hyderabad,BITs Goa,VIT Vellore,Amity University.These college will also provide good exposure to students and better placement opportunity.
