Computer Science is a branch in which there are many subjects you have to study. The subject will vary from one semester to the other. In the first year you have to cover programming languages and get an idea of coding and have to focus on basic coding . Slowly you will be introduced to Data  Structure and will learn about Array ,Stack  etc.

Here are some of the important subject you should give more time and study in depth.

1>Data Structure and Algorithms.

2>Operating System.

3>Database managment.

4>Data communication and computer Network.

5>OOP concept.

NOTE:

You should learn one coding language atleast so you can easily understand and implement your knowlege to solve competative programming questions.
