For the exam I will suggest you to go for lakshmikant polity as it is objective and well organised book according to syllabus. 

In case of DD Basu you will the book little bit complex as it has been written by keeping law students in mind.

So, In your case Iwill advice you to go for lakshmikant instead of basu.
