If you are looking for comparision between departments of CS and EC , then I can tell you that both the courses have higher scope today and a promising future scope. ECE deals with electronics communication related subject semiconductors whereas CSE is computer science anything that is revolving around computers data etc. Its a common placement scenario that ece and cse students get placed in common IT sector{although mech eee civil biotech also get) so everyone thinks its almost same .In reality each and every engineering branch is co related in practical sense .It solely depends on your personal interest .
