Although a 55 percentile is not a poor result, it will be challenging for you to get a seat in any government college. Since one must achieve a score higher than the 70th percentile to be admitted to a government college. There is no chance of getting into a government college if you fall into the general category, but there is a chance if you fall into one of the reserved categories.
However, there is a potential that you will be accepted into a government institution with a good branch if you fall under one of the reserved categories, like SC/ST. Additionally, you should apply to select top private colleges.

Hello,
According to your score in JEE mains , your rank will be around 1025009-434080. If you belong to general category then it would be impossible for you to get good colleges. With this rank you will not be able to get any of the NITs or IIITs or CFTIs. But you can go for state counselling and you can try for private colleges.
