IITs provide lateral entry to 2nd year for that you need to apply in JEE Main exam but his/her rank and score for JEE (Main) will not be declared as diploma
holders cannot apply for admission in NITs and CFTIs through JEE (Main) channel.

Generally state level colleges provide lateral entry admissions on the basis of entrance exam or on the basis of merit.
