That depends on your interest. If you are interested in Mechanical and took admission in Information Technology than that would be an absurd thing to do.
All B.Tech courses are equally good ,all you need to have is a passion about something great.

If you are a kind of person that loves to deal with technology and loves to invent something new that would help mankind,than surely welcome to the category of hardcore engineering.

First of all you have to decide what is the main thing you are joining engineering forif it is for the sake of job , security,money,welth than sorry to say but engineering would be a wrong choice but if you are interested in knowing things and technology to the fullest and learning how to use simple algorithm to make a variety of programs then my friend you are taking a right decision of joining engineering
