BEng stands for Bachelor of Engineering while BTech refers to Bachelor of Technology. Both are engineering courses. However, one major difference between them is that BEng is a theoretical program and BTech is skill-oriented .

Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) four years engineering degrees with a lot of similarities. They are so similar that sometimes, they are used interchangeably. But, they are different in many ways.

In the present scenario, the name of the degree – BE or B.Tech – doesn’t make any difference as long as the institute offering the course follows the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) guidelines. For those of you who don’t know, AICTE is the nodal govt. body that provides approval to technical courses offered by the engineering colleges in India. Colleges need to adhere to some standard guidelines to gain approval from AICTE.
