The criteria for admission in all government funded engineering colleges like IITs or NITs are through the public examination JEE-Mains and Advanced. Other engineering institution like IIITs also admit students through this exam. Other government engineering colleges in your state also consider your state's public CET exam for admission.

there are lots of colleges and counselling that offer colleges only based on your public exam marks. only IITS and NITS need JEE score.

for example, to apply in ANNA university TN, you only need your public exam marks. if you can tell your home state in can tell what college and counselling you can apply.

But most of the colleges give management quota seats only based on public exam marks
