hi kalyani, in tamil nadu , except some colleges like IIT or NIT and the colleges that have their own entrance, every other college admits students based on the class 12th marks and its done via counselling,and even colleges like SRM chennai or VIT that that has their own entrance also admits students who top the board. good luck
