According to the new technical era, I think ece is better than civil because there are many opportunities in electronics as a lot of electronic gadgets are being invented day by day, every instrument is becoming electronic.

While, civil engineering has less options and more students than required. So, placements are less for civil engineering in many institutes.

But, rest is your interest and choice.

It depends completely on your interest. First choose subject/field that you really love and can see yourself spending the rest of your life working in that field. You would understand the worth of it 10 years down the line. As far as branch is concerned ,CIVIL is much easier as compared to ECE. But Electronics has better scope. And normal stats show that majority of people prefer ECE or EEE over Civil. But it would be better to follow your interest instead following what other people doing.

If you like construction of buildings,bridges,roads then prefer Civil engineering and if you has interest in information and communication technology,softwares then prefer Electronics and communication engineering.

I think civil engineering is better than Ece because of the large competition in Ece and also they are fewer core job opportunities for Ece as compared to civil. So,  in my view civil is better option compared to Ece.
