If you want to make carrier in the IT sector, it is not necessary that you can take science only, commerce can also be chosen. Some universities have a requirement of having studied mathematics as a subject in 10+2 by a candidate, some give preference to students who have studied Computer Science(C.S.) or Informatics Practices(I.P.) as a subject in class 12. However taking science stream will be the best option with subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. These all will help you further in your preparation for courses you opt in IT.
