All IIT's are similar and provide knowledge in the same manner. But the thing is that automobile engineering itself is not enough and there is no suggested course particularly as Automobile engineering in IIT. But you can do the dual degree like engineering design with specialisation in automobile engineering which will be beneficial for you and it is available in Madras(Chennai) and other IIT's. To get best for automobile engineering you can study at IIT Madras(Chennai).
