There is nothing like this is better for a topper and that is better for average student. All that matters is where your field of interest relies upon and how ambitious you are. We have come across a lot of student who will be dull during their schooling , college life. But they will stand in such a admirable position after their bachelors (not all the cases but certain cases). Similarly we have come across people who wont even have basic qualification but they turn to be a huge business man.

Options are wide but everything that matters is how you want your future to be. India needs both engineers as well as businessman and entrepreneur so choose what you want to.
