Robotic Design is the creation of a plan or convention for the construction of a robot or a robotic system (as in architectural blueprints, engineering drawing, operation process, circuit diagrams ). Design has different connotations in different fields. Were Machine Design is creation of plans for the machine to perform the desired functions. Machine design can be defined as creation of right combination of correctly proportioned moving and stationary components so constructed and joined as to enable the liberation, transformation and utilization of energy .

If we go through the both then we will understand both courses are specialization course where both courses are really emerging for the upcoming industry because now days and upcoming more then 60-70% workforce will obtained by the robotics and machine .So as per my opinion both courses are best in industry but if you are familiar or interested in specific course then go through that one because for bright future our interest is playing big role .

A Robotic engineer can be employed in manufacturing plants, laboratories, medical fields, mining, automation sector, life sciences, aerospace engineering, agricultural engineering, also note that  Robotics is an interdisciplinary field that requires all fields experts to be collaborated into one and work for fruitful results.

whereas, Machine designing focuses on the basic principles of the following three areas: Mechanical behavior includes statics, dynamics, strength of materials, vibrations, reliability.

so, we can recommend you to choose robotics designing over machine designing.
