which is better at sit pune: cse core or artificial intelligence and machine learning??

See when ever you are wiling to take any specialization, you should be sure about the enthusiasm you have regarding your specialization. Now if you have genuine interest in AI and Machine learning then you should go for it but if you aren't sure then go for CSE core.

See this is a matter of fact that CSE core have more widen area of employability. So if you go for CSE Core then you have a lot of area to work on. But if you get in AI and ML then you are leaning towards the sector of Financial Engineering, Data Mining and Data Science along with Neural Networks and other cognizant factors of AI. Thus you are attempting a field which have a lot of growth ahead. But if you aren't sure about the subject then I would always suggest to go for the CSE core and if you build interest then you can Discipline Specific Elective in AI.
