Any honours course is better than BA programme regardless if your core subjects, according to me. This is so because putting 3 years in graduation if you pick honours course you'll have specialised knowledge regarding that subject which a programme course won't provide you. Programme courses are designed for basic level studies whereas honours course are specialisation courses. 

I think you should go for History Honours.
