The foremost thing is that of you have interest in any one of these two, then go for it. Else You should go with Production Engineering. As Production Engineering is a derivative branch of Mechanical Engineering, you can work as a mechanical engineer and have better job prospects. Unlike Mining Engineering, the scope of production engineering is more and broader. The placement is also good in case on production engineering. However, you may note that placement varies from college to college. Amd if you have serious interest in mining then go for it.
