It all depends on ur calibre to get into the subject.
IT is all about computers ,programming and networks  and ECE is all about hardware systems telecommunication and other core things.
Make up ur mind acc to ur interest.
Talking about placements acc to my view IT has more scope than ECE because outside INDIA there's just computer world which creates a lot of options in front of u. Simply saying IT or CSE is good option !
