There should not be simply any comparison between the two as they are both very different domains and both have their special qualities. It's the student's passion and interest that makes any department good or bad. Passion itself drives to propel excellent engineering. ECE deals with electronic circuits and devices like how things are made, things like motherboards, mobile phones, bluetooth headphones, etc and deals with that engineering.
