But, if I have to give my personal opinion I think Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is the best engineering college in Tamil Nadu.

Hello Sharan, There are many best colleges in Tamilnadu. You should work hard too get admission in these colleges. The cutoff of these colleges is very high. The best engineering colleges in Tamilnadu are:-

1.IIT Madras (You need to qualify both jee main & advance  and should  score very good rank in jee advance. )

2.NIT Trichy (You should score very good rank in jee main to get it)

3.PSG Combiatre ( Intake exam:- Jee main)

4.TCE Madurai ( Intake exam:- TCE, Jee main)

5 .VIT vellore( Intake exam:- VITEE)

6 .SRM University (SRMJEE)

Tamil nadu have a lot of engineering colleges. IIT Madras is the premium institute run by central government. Apart from them you can find colleges like Anna University and College of Engineering,Guindy. They are run by state government. Many famous private collages are also present in tamil nadu like VIT ,SRM and Sathyabama University.
