There is not much difference. The comparision can be made in BA English or English hons.

In BA English you study all subjects including a detail subject of English and in English Hons you study only about various subjects in English like literature etc.

So Eng hons is a more proper degree than BA English.

There is not much difference in job prospects but after Eng hons you can open up to a few more scopes.
