Acc. To me B.tech is the better option. Polytechnic is good for class 10th students not for 12th students. B.tech provides lot of opportunity & it is 4 year course. & if you will get good college, then you will also get good placements opportunity.

this is totally depend on your choice. see for pursuing btech you need to have a really good grasp of subjects because it is a degree level studies and lot of application of mathematics and physics need to study in btech course. however polytechnic is not that of high level as btech.and diploma courses can be persued after class 10 also. mainly the working principles and baic algorithms of engineering is  taught there. so if you dont get a good rank in engineering entrances and 10+2 also you should go for polytechnic. 

According to me B. Tech is a better option than polytechnic. Polytechnic is the diploma course and B.Tech is the bachelor degree in a specific field like CSE.ME, CE, EEE.

At the end what exactly matters? ONLY matters your knowledge if you have good knowledge than a degree is not matter that much.
