You can go for both. As these two scores are accepted by a lot of institutes across India, it makes sense to take both the tests. If you look at the test pattern, CMAT has 100 questions, 4 sections whereas MAT has 200 questions and 5 sections.

General Awareness section appears in both these tests. But the difference is the weightage. In CMAT, GK score accounts for 25% whereas in MAT, GK score is not counted in the final score though there might be institutes who look at your GK score before issuing GDPI calls.

So you can go for both and you will get good college.
