Hello Darsi,

Normalization is a process used to convert the raw or actual marks secured to GATE scores. After the evaluation of answers, the actually secured marks are getting converted into the Gate score based on qualifying marks.

The presumption behind the process of normalization is that"The ability of all candidates are considered to be at the same level in all sessions of Gate exam". Based on the certain formulas the committee will calculate the normalized marks.

Considering the above statement, Normalization is done under keeping the ability of the candidates as constant for all sessions, the chance for max normalization will be the same for every session.
