Hello there.

If you want to be a scientist, you have a long road ahead of you. First, a 12th grade science diploma is required (math, biology, physics or chemistry). You must identify your scientific area of interest and continue your study in that discipline.

Being a scientist requires a lot of work, and you must be passionate about your field. After finishing your master's degree in your selected topic, and you must pursue a PhD.

After finishing your education, you will be able to work for:

  • Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO)
  • Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR)
  • Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC)
  • Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
  • Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)
  • Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR)
  • Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM)
  • Indian Association for Cultivation of Science (IACS)
  • Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES)

When you research about something you are called a scholar or researcher. So if you are pursuing any subject in the field of science stream & you are pursuing PhD then automatically you are a scientist.
