Which would require a greater force accelerating a 2 kg mass at 5 ms2 or a 4 kg mass at 2ms2

Hello,

The formula for force when mass and acceleration are given is  Force (F)= Mass (M)* Acceleration(A).

So the force required for accelerating 2kg mass at 5ms2 is

Force (F)= Mass (M)* Acceleration(A)

= 2*5

= 10N

The force required for accelerating 4kg mass at 2ms2 is

Force (F)= Mass (M)* Acceleration(A)

= 4*2

= 8N

So the force required for 2kg mass at 5ms2 is more than the force required for accelerating 4kg mass at 2ms2.
