Correct Answer: 36
Solution : Wrongly entered marks = 98 Actual marks = 89 Average marks = actual average + 0.25 Let $x$ be the number of students. Increase in marks = 98 – 89 = 9 Increase in average marks = $\frac{9}{x}$ So, 0.25 = $\frac{9}{x}$ ⇒ $x$ = $\frac{9}{0.25}$ = 36 Therefore, the total number of students = 36 Hence, the correct answer is 36.
