Dear Gaurav, Bryophytes are called the amphibiand of the plant kingdom. The reason being though they live in soil, they need water for reproduction thereby living upto the definition of the word 'Amphibian.' The Antherozpids or the sperms of the Bryophytes are flagellatr and so need to swim to the eggs in the water.
