Generally the study of plants and animals is known as taxonomy of plants and animals.

According to the taxonomic studies there are two types of living organisms.

They are.

Plantae(which are again classified into mosses,ferns,woody and non woody and flowering and non flowering plants.)

Animalia(which are again classified into sponges,worms,insects,fish ,reptiles, mammals and animals.)

The kingdom plantae consists of four major bodies.

bryophyts(mosses)

Pteridophytes.

Gymnosperms.

And angiosperms.
