why anode rays depend on nature of gas

Hi,

Anode ray is the beam of positively charged ions. These positive ions are created by gaseous discharge tube. The anode rays consists of ionised gas molecule, which even if had the same charge may have different charge to mass ratio causing to change the nature of anode rays.

So the anode rays dpend on the nature of gas.
