Hello.
Magnet do not attract current carrying wire because the magnetic field lines produced by the current carrying wire are in changing direction because of this poles get changed accordingly this is the major reason to repel both the poles of the magnet by the current carrying wire.

The magnet didn't attract the current carrying wire because a magnet sitting next to a wire doesn't induce a current in the wire because the magnet is very small and short compared to the coil radius.
