Hello,

See, every year in India lakhs (yes you heard it right) of engineering  aspirants become graduate and start searching for job.Its definitely not possible that every single one will get a job and that because there is not enough job and this is not just for mechanical engineering but for all the braches and that's why lots of engineering graduate start preparing for government jobs and startups.
Now, getting a job a depends a lot on your college too.Like if you can get admission into NITs,IIITs, or IITs then you will definitely get a job and in field of your choice. With that i mean that in top engineering colleges where lots of companies visit, they don't care about branch, they just care about the qualities of the candidates. In IITs even Investment banks and consultation firms offer jobs to Mechanical Engineers. So, this is something that you need to know that if you are good,hard-working student and capable enough to get a job then you will securely get a job.

I hope this helps.
