The simple answer is they are interested in that if you are interested in particular field, you try to get more knowledge and then it seems to be easy to you. There is nothing like CSE is easy or Mechanical is tough or any other branch is tough or easy, it is just based on a particular person interest.

Also every person has a different perspective, you must have listened a lot of people saying maths is easy and at the same time many person say it is tough. So the conclusion is those who are able to understand maths easily say it easy and those who are not able to understand easily say it tough . Similar with branches those who can easily understand topics in CSE say it easy and those who are not say it tough . But CSE is on of the most demanding branch because it is popular and right now it has lot of job opportunities nothing else .

CSE is considered to be an easy branch academically as the syllabus of CSE is comparatively easy as compared to other branches, especially core branches like Electrical or Mechnical engineering.

However, there is a lot of practical things in the CSE, every week new framework new technology comes. So in that way CSE is also a very demanding branch but that is not true for the academics part as the syllabus remains the same.
