There are semesters in B. Des in fashion designing so that it gets easier for the students to grasp all the knowledge sequentially and it does not become a burden for them because as far as I know the syllabus is very vast and the practical knowledge they provide cannot be understood in one go. Therefore they divide the session and syllabus semester wise.
