You should select subjects based on your interest. After completing 12th with Arts, you can pursue Bachelor or Arts with Honors in particular subject, for example History honors. Further after completing BA, you can pursue Masters course and besides that you can do UGC NET, after clearing UGC NET, you can go on to become Professor/Lecturer/Teacher. Apart from that Arts subjects can help you in exams like UPSC Civil Service where most of the questions are from History,Geography, Polity.
