Since all the top IIts were established a long time back and ece came into the picture some years  back with the advancement of wireless/satellite communications and VLSI. But they offer EE which is a mixture of electrical and ece ,which is much better than ece.they offer subjects of both the courses.

So, don't fall in the false impression that old IIT don't offer ece ,just the name is different.
