Hi Sekhar, in my opinion, first of all, being at a very good reputed college is a very big advantage which you will be able to see in the future. Having said that, but if you are going to choose a branch that you don't like and are not interested in then it will become a big problem for you to excel in that branch.

I would suggest you to research more about chemical engineering and then assess whether you should go for it or not.
