Hii..
Well, the MHCET is conducted by the maharashtra education board; and is primarily based on the state board syllabi of class 11 and 12. In the CET, there are 150 questions( 50 each in PCM) which have to be attempted in 3 hours. There are no negative markings. For physics and chemistry it is +1 for each right answer and for maths it is +2. If u see the CET paper, it has quite a bit of theory too. Now as far as JEE is concerned, it is at a higher level with ncert syllabi as the base. In the JEE, there are 90 questions(30 each in PCM) which have to be attemped in 3 hours. There are negative markings too. Also JEE MAINS consist of a single paper but JEE ADVANCED consists of 2 papers. And it contains a variety of types of questions like single answer, passage based, one or more than, matrix match etc. And this makes the paper quite high level and difficult. I find CET papers quite boring and dry, but JEE papers are always nail biting, tough and interesting to solve.

The level of MHCET for engineering admissions is going to get tougher and at par with JEE from 2018, to help students prepare well for both state and national level entrance exams, the Maharashtra state government has decided to raise the standard of the state CET from this year.
But you should not take the additional pressure of it right now and concentrate on your JEE Preparation because if you can prepare well for JEE Main then you will be able to catch up any level of MHT CET.
All the very best and good luck.
Great that someone asked this question. Yes, even I read about CET being on par with JEE.
First of all, don’t panic. The syllabus will be your 11th and 12th (Maharashtra Board for sure).
As far as difficulty level is considered, it will get tougher as compared to previous CETs, but be assured that it will not be as hard as JEE. Maximum of 75% toughness level compared to JEE can be expected. It means that if you can score 200/360 in JEE, you will easily score more than 250 in CET, provided it is out of 360.
One more point, for admissions you will be competing with only Maharashtra State students. So, a comparatively lower score might get you into a good college. But when it comes to COEP and that too, Computer Engineering, then these are the creamy layer students of the state. Here you will require more than 250 easily to be sure of an admission (this is not a verdict, but just a prediction; it may change if everyone performs better or worse).
For the time being, stop thinking about it and start studying. Arihant Publications has a good collection of JEE level questions.
Hope this helps :)
Hi Dear, MHTCET, and JEE-MAIN both are separated criteria for the paper set because of numbers of the applicant matter.exam difficulty level may or may not vary on both exam but according to me jee-main exam level is so less rather than MHTCET.
if you want to know more about the mhtcet exam then go through given link :https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/mht-cet-exam-pattern
