MCI which stands for Medical Council of India has been replaced by NMC which stands for National Medical Council. And NMC did propose scrapping of NEET PG in gavour of a more friendly approach called NEXT. In this, Candidates will be considered for PG admissions based on the marks scored in their Graduation instead of an Entrance examination. And NMC has decided to allot 3 years to come up with the guidelines and implement it. This was proposed in 2019 and so we do not know whether it would be implemented in 2022 or not. We need to wait for official information regarding this.
