COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. COVID-19 (CO stands for corona and VI for virus  19 the year in which it appeared). This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December
2019.
The Coronavirus (CoV) is a large family of viruses known to cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to acute respiratory tract infection. The severity of the infection may be visible as pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, and even death. Until the outbreak of SARS, this group of viruses was greatly overlooked.
