Global warming is defined as the gradual increase in the temperature of the earth surface  due to the greenhouse effect of increased level of green house gases such as CFCs, CO2etc.
There are various types of greenhouse gases which collect in the atmosphere , they absorb sunlight , solar radiation that have bounced off the earths surface and trap the heat which results in increasing temperature of earth's surface and the atmosphere.
